-
- Hello "sniper"...

-
- First, a question: IF you can't use Blitz, how do you know it is faster,
- better, and superior in every way except being slightly harder to use.
- Who told you this??
-
-
- Now, I don't know about the rest of the people on this list but, I
- use BLITZ as much or more than I use AMOS. In fact, I have two
- projects in development in it right now.
-
- So, being that I am well-experienced in both languages, I think I
- can be reasonably objective.
-
- Blitz does produce much faster code, it's graphic's routines are
- very fast (yes, faster than the power bobs extension based on the
- PB-demo I executed) and it does produce smaller, more optimized
- executables.
-
- I think it provides excellent support for true, professional software
- development.
-
- Personally, I don't see what's so hard about it. I converted a simple
- demo from AMOS to BLITZ, the same day I received BB...
-
-
- Anyway, AMOS is an incredibly accessable language. It allows a
- developer to quickly have something "up n' running" (BLITZ allows
- this too but, AMOS develop is even faster).
-
- A GOOD programmer can use AMOS and run rings around an
- average programmer using BLITZ. Of course, if the GOOD
- programmer were using BB, then he'd probably be running rings
- around Assembler programmer's...
-
- The point is, I use both as they seem so similiar to me and actually
- I enjoy AMOS programming just as much as BB programming as
- AMOS really pushes me. In my SideShooter demo, I wouldn't
- think much of it to have it running at 50/60fps if I wrote it in BLITZ,
- but developing it in AMOS, I know that if I can obtain 50/60fps
- than I can feel that I have really accomplished something.
-
- Anyway, I could go on all day about development-issues, design
- theories and language comparisons but, I really don't have the time
- to write it all and most people don't have the time to read all my
- babbling so, in summary let me say this:
-
- Use AMOS, if you enjoy using AMOS. Don't blame AMOS for
- slow, bulky programs, blame yourself.
-
- If you want to use BLITZ, use it. It is also an excellent programming
- language. Hey, if you need some help let me know.
-
- So, use BB, don't tell people how great it is. If you really believe
- it is far superior then DEVELOP something in it that will PROVE
- beyond a shadow of a doubt that BB is FAR SUPERIOR.
-
- Until you have done that, it's best not to say such things...
-
-
- HEY AMOS-LIST GUYS:
-
- I know you are thinking, this Garfield never learns but, I felt I
- should speak out as I seem to be about the only person who
- actually uses both languages and feels that to like the one does
- not mean you hate the other...
-
-
- Take care,
- GARFIELD
